Poetic Division of the Heart
By Alba-Maria Grembi
How marvellous your impact, Divider of man’s time — upon the scars of this
humanity: whom you have knitted cautiously with your paternal care; and you had
tendered dearly in her disowned familiar share.
Whom you had known so deeply in her abolished name; and you respected
wholly in self-afflicted shame.
How desperately lost was her life in this complexing vanity — where she had dwelled
astoundingly between false concepts of divine.
Your presence a great donor of deep and holy meaning — a gospel of
salvation:
That speaks of one that lied in love with nothingness and pride;
and speaks of one whose heart was still and most unwise (though dreading
her demise).
Divided by one born in your parental water; in Spirit and in Truth,
became your loving daughter.
Your work: the greatest of enigmas; living manifest in your creation —hidden
in schismatic names and characters, as settled by believing.
Astonishing is change within the new believing mind — born through a loving miracle:
Deep faith that makes the doubtful abandon life in mystery; such grace
that leaves the sinful heart behind in distant history.
Mercy transforming so much so that crucifies the flesh; great glory that renders old, misguided definitions fresh.
Your love (oh humble Poet!) turns wise men into blind, poor stories into lyrical — declaring your glorious character, ingenious and kind.
